The Opportunity

 

The Head of Operations will help to drive Operational Excellence Cameroon Country office growing and complex portfolios. She/he will ensure continuous improvement across all the key operational management standards contributing to Plan International’s global strategy in Cameroon. As Head of Operations, you will bring critical analysis, insights and implementation lead to drive strategy, growth, and operational efficiency within the organisation. You will maintain an organisation-wide perspective and support decision-making among Cameroon leadership.

For this role, you are responsible for leading, managing and developing a team of functional experts, including Supply Chain, ICT and Security, to support the delivery of quality and integrated programming in line with the organizational standards, frameworks and procedures.

 

As Head of Operations, you will be managed directly by the Country Director and will at times be required to take on the responsibilities of the Country Director position in his\her absence. You will be a member of the Core Country Leadership Team along with other country managers and is expected to contribute to Plan’s understanding and strategic direction in the country, co-leads the implementation of Accountability Framework of the Excellence in Operations priority. As Head of Operations, you may approve all commitments, contracts, grants, leases, disbursements, and transfers to third parties up to €200,000 and you will work remotely & virtually with teams & keeps high performance management in though & difficult times of emergencies of epidemics & pandemics & natural disasters.

 

The Individual

 

We are looking to recruit a qualified candidate, with a Master in Accounting, Finance, or any related field. Professional Financial/Accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) will be an added advantage. You must demonstrate knowledge of financial, Supply chain and business management, a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), e-mail and the internet and strong knowledge of the requirements of donors’ compliance and grants management;

As Head of Operations, you need to be fluency in English and strong working knowledge of French, spoken and written and a good management skill.
