The Opportunity


As the IT Solutions Design Lead you will be accountable for the technical roadmap, lifecycles, architecture, design of global technology portfolio and applications delivered to all of Plan International’s users and offices (including Microsoft ERP, Office 365 and other collaboration systems, SAP Successfactors HR, other enterprise applications) as well as integrations with and across data analytics, identity systems, and infrastructure and security) ensuring alignment with requirements and compliance with standards and policies.


You will be a key member of the IT Management Team advising on areas of technical design and best practice, performing continuous research on emerging technologies to stay updated with the best alternatives and to improve the existing architectures help to guide and drive forward the development and enhancement of the overall technical landscape and work closely with project managers to ensure projects are planned and resourced effectively.


You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop requirements and ensure solutions meet these requirements while adhering to the larger technical strategy.


Skills, experience and knowledge required:


  • Proven track record of delivering results in large, highly complex technical environments spanning multiple technologies and multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a technical authority role on major application development or systems integration projects.
  • Experienced in industry frameworks and methodology such as TOGAF9 or ITIL 3 or PRINCE2/AGILE
  • Strong technical skills, ability to understand technology across multiple domains.
  • Strong analytical skills; problem solving; decision making in ambiguous environment.
  • Change and budget management skills.
  • Ability to analyse market/industry behaviour and analyse the impact and influencing factors
  • Able to constantly be looking for ways of improving the Project’s outcomes for Plan
  • Able to influence, negotiate and build trust

Location: Hybrid working between our Global Hub in Woking, Surrey and remotely

Type of Role: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract  

Reports to: Head of Global Technology Solutions

Salary: Competitive annual salary

            + 25 days annual leave

            + Pension contribution up to 7%
