Partnerships Advisor

Date: 28-Apr-2021

Location: UK, OR, Flexible

Company: Plan International

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Opportunity

As the Partnerships Advisor, you will perform a central function at the global level in advising thematic hub leads and colleagues at country, regional and global level on organisation-wide engagement with partners. You will help maximise engagement and identify, broker, develop and advise on new and existing opportunities whilst also scaling-up key strategic and multi-stakeholder partnership opportunities and exploring areas of collaboration that will result in the greatest transformative change for children.

In this exciting role you will work with the Head of Global Partnership Development to determine the allocation of Plan’s human and financial resources to key activities, including oversight of Plan International’s investment in memberships of networks, coalitions and alliances. You will also help Plan offices to manage relationships strategically, coordinating outreach and support, informing decision-making and prioritisation for advocacy, policy, research, resource mobilisation and other initiatives.

The Individual

We are looking to recruit a proactive individual who has awareness of global partner engagement strategies and knowledge of advocacy, policy and/or fundraising within the international development sector. With a demonstrable track record of success building multi-sector partnerships and alliances, as well as knowledge on current issues and trends.

You will need to be a strategic thinker who has effective stakeholder and relationship management skills and the ability to support multi-sector initiatives across multiple locations. With excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills and you will also have the capacity to manage workloads and work to tight deadlines.
