The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled technical accountant to join Plan International’s Accounting Standards and Accounting Policies (ASAP) project team. In this role, you will independently review specific areas of accounting for compliance with US GAAP and FRS 102, identify opportunities for policy enhancements, and collaborate with internal teams to implement necessary changes.
Key responsibilities include evaluating current accounting practices, preparing technical documentation to support policy updates, revising policy guidelines, and delivering training to ensure consistent understanding and application across the organization. You will also work closely with business teams to navigate the practical implications and challenges of implementing changes to accounting policies and processes.
About you
- Qualified Accountant (ICAEW or ACCA)
- Significant technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP and FRS102 and experience in application across multiple industries
- Excellent knowledge of, and practical experience in, SAP
- Hands on practical and collaborative approach to problem solving
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Location:This role will ideally be based in the UK, employed from the Global Hub for Plan International which is based in Woking, Surrey however other locations where Plan International has an office* that can employ on behalf of the Global Hub and you have the pre-existing right to work and live may be considered. This role is mostly remote/working from home.
Type of role: 6 month Fixed term role with possible extension
