Lead the Way in Building Resilience: Portfolio Manager - Disaster Risk Management, Resilience Building, and Climate Change Adaptation

 

Plan International Philippines is seeking a passionate and experienced leader to join our team as the Portfolio Manager – Disaster Risk Management, Resilience Building, and Climate Change Adaptation.

 

In this pivotal role, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering impactful programs that empower communities to prepare for, withstand, and recover from disasters. You will provide strategic leadership and technical oversight, ensuring our programs meet the highest standards and best practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and strategic planning of our Resilience portfolio at the country level, aligning with Plan International Pilipinas' program ambitions.
  • Design high-quality, gender-transformative Resilience proposals that address the specific needs identified in our country strategy.
  • Facilitate grant project initiation workshops for newly approved projects, in collaboration with the Business Development Unit.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to ensure program effectiveness across the portfolio.
  • Oversee Plan International Pilipinas' engagement with partners in the Resilience space.
  • Represent Plan International Pilipinas in interactions with external stakeholders, advocating for our program vision.
  • Contribute to emergency response activities as needed, drawing on your expertise.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, with at least 5-7 years of experience in the development sector (or equivalent combination).
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in Disaster Risk Management and/or Climate Change Adaptation is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in program development, monitoring, and budget management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with the capacity to influence others' behavior.
  • Active membership and affiliation within professional Disaster Risk Management networks.
  • A successful track record in project management, managing remote teams, and collaborating with community partners and volunteers.
  • Flexibility, excellent written and spoken English, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and ability to conduct fieldwork in areas covered by Plan International Pilipinas.
  • Filipino nationality and residency in the Philippines are required.
