The Opportunity
Under the supervision of the project coordinator, the livelihood assistant is responsible for the planning and coordination of all empowerment and environmental protection project activities. The livelihood assistant will have to comply with the strategic orientations as well as the programmatic and administrative standards defined by Plan International and the donor. As livelihood assistant, you will provide technical support and training follow-up / supervision for project beneficiaries, you will participate in defining the project's beneficiary selection criteria and the methodology for targeting beneficiaries and implementing empowerment and environmental protection activities. As livelihood assistant, you will periodically write reports (weekly & monthly) on activities under his/her responsibility, contribute to a working environment that considers the specificities of each person and avoids any discrimination; participate in the design/management of project work tools (sheets, training modules, etc.) and provide ongoing technical support to the project coordinator and other staff.
The Individual
We are looking to recruit a qualified candidate, with a bachelor degree in economic science, rural economic, agriculture, environment, social sciences, agroeconomics, rural development, project/program management or equivalent; At least three years’ experience in livelihood and environment protection project with a good knowledge of participatory development approaches. As the livelihood assistant, you need to have a good knowledge and understanding of established humanitarian principles and international child protection standard; Previous experience in the Logone et Chari department and knowledge of local languages will be an asset.
