The Opportunity
The EiE Coordinator is responsible for the technical management, direction, representation and supervision as well as the monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the project. In this role, you will ensure the quality and INEE standards in the implementation of the educational project. You will support vulnerable children affected by conflict to receive quality basic education in safe and child-friendly environments.
As EiE Coordinator, you ensure the technical quality of the interventions that fall under your technical sector in terms of emergency programming and support to the staff of Plan International Cameroon but also to the staff of the implementing organization under your supervision to implement activities in line with international and national standards.
Specifically, you will provide technical support for strategic approaches, implementing, monitoring and evaluating Plan International's EiE project in response to the Lake Chad Basin crisis impacting Cameroon. In addition, it could be called upon if necessary for technical support in the education sector. Your dimensions of role combine:
• Design and rapid assessment of the educational needs to be enabled by the project
• Technical support for the implementation of the project/programme
• Local representation.
The Individual
We are looking for someone with a Master degree in education or other related sectors. As EiE Coordinator, have an experience in education in emergencies is required, preferably in conflict and fragile settings. Ability to learn quickly and adapt experience/lessons learned in other emergency contexts to the emergency response context in Cameroon. Knowledge of Minimum Standards for Education in Emergencies (INEE).
You need to have a solid experience in the management, monitoring and supervision of educational projects, an ability to work in a multicultural environment and to establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both inside and outside of organizations, in stressful situations. Demonstrated ability to network and liaise with major donors in the education sector, including Irish Aid, UNICEF, ECHO and excellent project design, participatory monitoring and evaluation skills.
As EiE Coordinator, an excellent written and spoken English, with French being an advantage. Also, Previous work experience in the field of accelerated education program implementation is an asset.
