ROLE PURPOSE

 

This role will provide the Zonal Area with consistent internal controls, maintenance of corporate system and timely and reliable financial information and analysis, and ensure donor’s compliance during acquisition/budgeting, management/implementation and reporting and enhance the financial capabilities of the partners to effectively manage project implementation, budgets and reporting.  That leads to effective decision making. 

 

 

DIMENSION OF THE ROLE

 

The post holder reports to the Head of Finance and IT with strong technical line and Program Implementation Area Manager dotted line and is responsible for Zonal management of Budget Management, Financial Reporting, Partnership management, Internal Financial Controls, Corporate Systems Management, Audits Management, Cost Recovery Management, Balance Sheet Management and Treasury/Cashflow management. The position will have 2 sub- ordinates direct reporting to the post with frequent intervention with other departments such as Business Development Department, Supply chain Department and Program Department.

 

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE , SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential

  • In-depth knowledge of the Finance and accounting preferably in Nonprofit making organization
  • A degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
  • Have CPA/ ACCA, CPAT
  • Experience in a similar role in an NGO environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills appropriate to the audience
  • Proficient Computer skills and use of relevant accounting packages
