VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT - Human Resources Officer Solomon Islands

Plan International Pacific is seeking to hire a full time Human Resources Officer in Solomon Island/Honiara who undertakes vital role for effective day to day Program management, support partnership management, support program financial and risk management and supports in stakeholder management across the Solomon Island, Honiara Plan International.


The role reports to Plan International Solomon Island Country Programme Manager. 

 

 

 

Do you have what it takes to be successful in this role?

 

Essential

  • Degree from a recognised institution with 3 years of experience in Human Resources Management.
  • specializing in HR Development / relevant field Confidentiality, reliability and punctuality
  • Excellent knowledge of local labour law in Solomon Islands and its practical application in the workplace.
  • Excellent knowledge of good people management and development practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of current good practice and emerging themes and trends in terms of people management and development.
  • Basic financial acumen.
  • Knowledge of HR terminology
  • Knowledge of a HRIS, ideally SAP HR.
  • Experience of support for resourcing, recruitment and selection activities.
  • Experience of coordinating activities related to staff welfare, including oversight of medical insurance processes.
  • Experience of payroll.
  • Experience of coordinating activities related to staff compensation and benefits, including coordinating a salary survey and pay review process.
  • Experience of capacity building is desirable.
  • Advocacy, influencing, negotiating and networking.
  • Ability to plan and execute work effectively, handling multiple competing priorities and managing effectively.
  • Written and spoken communication and facilitation skills in English.
  • Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint)


Desirable

  • Experience in SAP system would be advantage
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Plan International’s HR policies and procedures, both local and global, or the ability to demonstrate these can be learned.
  • Relevant international development and humanitarian program knowledge is desirable, including Gender and inclusion, Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy.
