Job Description
Reporting to the Country Director (of the hosting country), the Head of IT for Southern Africa Plan International Countries will play a pivotal leadership role in driving the strategic direction, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of IT systems and services across Plan Mozambique, Plan Malawi, Plan Zambia, and Plan Zimbabwe. This role is critical in ensuring that all IT infrastructure and digital tools are robust, secure, and aligned with Plan International mission to advance children’s rights and equality for girls.

The individual
Desired skills and competencies for the role
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Science or equivalent with 7 years’ experience of which 3 years is in management position.
- Relevant professional qualification and management courses will be advantageous
- IT technical skills in infrastructure and/or applications
- Understanding of Plan’s business processes and strategic objectives
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Windows, SQL Server, Exchange server and communication Technologies.
- Database Administration skills
- Ability to understand and communicate context and opportunities for ICT in development and ICT innovation for programmes
- Project Management Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and build high performance teams in support of achievement of organisational objectives.
- Experience in leading team, coaching and mentoring.
- Fluency in English both verbal and written;
- Portuguese language could be an added advantage;
- Numeracy and ability to interpret financial data;
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Proficient in computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications.
