DIMENSIONS OF ROLE
Field Officer - ISFP reports to the District Coordinator. H/She will be charged with the responsibility of supporting the district Coordinator to fully implement the project in Moyamba, Kailahun and Port Loko Districts with respect to the targeted communities as the project requires. The Field Officer - ISFP will be actively involved in the implementation of the project, with direct contact with primary and secondary stakeholders within the targeted communities
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Deliverables
- Ensure that all commodities entrusted to Plan International arriving at schools are fully accounted for.
- Inspect all waybills for commodities arriving at the Schools.
- Ensure that the commodities are of the correct quantities and quality as manifested on the waybill.
- Immediately record all quantities delivered short (missing), quantities lost in transit and quantities damaged, if any. All observations must be recorded immediately.
- Commodities must be carefully counted during off-loading.
- At the school, commodities must be stacked in an organized manner, by commodity type, to facilitate easy release.
- Organize and supervise food and NFI distributions, and at the schools, commodities must be properly stacked on pallets.
- Responsible for ensuring that all necessary distribution equipment is available at the schools, including forms and measuring devices.
- Ensure that proper and approved ration sizes are being administered at the schools
- School attendance register must be filled and supervised. The register must be reconciled with the Daily attendance roll form
- Ensure that the Daily School Stores bin card, Daily Canteen Stores Requisition and Daily attendance School Feeding Roll are filled and filed properly.
- Ensure that the kitchen and stores are kept clean at all times
- Ensure that the community leaders and stakeholders understand Plan International’s work in the communities
- Ensure that the Child-Centred Community Development (CCCD) approach is evident in all School Feeding project activities at the community level to meet Plan International’s goals
- Ensure that there is a good working relationship with the school authorities and SMCs
- Identify capacity gaps in Children, Community Volunteers, Community-based organization (CBOs), Civil Society Organization (CSOs), Local Non-Governmental Organisation (LNGOs) and government partners and propose the appropriate interventions to address the gaps, especially in girls’ rights.
- Facilitate the preparation of gender transformative projects and manage them to meet set objectives
- Ensure gender is mainstreamed into all section development-related program activities in the district/chiefdom and maintains gender sensitivity towards staff and plan associates;
- Ensure Child protection is mainstreamed into all community development-related program activities in the district/chiefdom to meet Plan International’s goals;
- Perform any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
- Ability to perform field assignments and willingness to travel for long periods of time in difficult terrain, harsh and demanding conditions.
- Candidates should also be willing to live and work in a very difficult environment
- Good command of oral and written English.
- Computer literacy is an added advantage.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures
