Since 24 September 2017, Plan International has been responding to the Rohingya refugee influx in Cox’s Bazar with special focus on protecting girls and boys from violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation; improving hygiene and sanitation; and restoring access to safe, quality, and inclusive education for refugee children and adolescents. For the past three decades, our work in Bangladesh has made a significant impact, and we are now looking for a Training Specialist.

The Role

The Social Norms Specialized Agency (SNSA) is a key component of the Economic Acceleration and Resilience for NEET (EARN) Project, implemented by the Department of Youth Development (DYD) under the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) with support from the World Bank.

The EARN Project aims to increase access to education, market-relevant skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship opportunities for Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET) youth, particularly young women and other vulnerable groups in rural and semi-urban Bangladesh. Within this framework, the SNSA  promotes Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) by addressing restrictive social norms through evidence-based interventions, safeguarding (SEA/SH) prevention, community engagement, capacity strengthening, research, communication, and policy support to create an enabling environment for inclusive and sustainable youth economic participation. The SNSA provides technical leadership and quality assurance across project interventions, working closely with government institutions, implementing partners, communities, and other actors to promote inclusive participation, strengthen institutional capacity, and generate evidence for adaptive programme management and sustainable social change.

The Training Specialist will support the Training Expert in planning, organizing, facilitating and monitoring all project training and capacity-building activities. The position will ensure high-quality, participatory and inclusive learning events for project staff, implementing partners, government officials, employers, service providers, community leaders and youth participants. The role will contribute to implementation of the project's Social Norms Strategy, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Safeguarding and PSEAH commitments.

What we’re looking for

• Master's degree in Sociology, Social Work, Anthropology, Development Studies, Education or another relevant discipline.
• Minimum five  (5) years of relevant specific experience in training, facilitation and capacity building from a social perspective.
• Proven understanding and capacity to translate the content in facilitation following the participatory process and methods referring training managmeent cycle. 
• Demonstrated experince of managing and facilitating the training, Orienting and capacity building events of implementing the guidelines of GESI and addressing GBV, SEA/SH for all relevant stakeholders.
• Experience delivering training for government, NGOs, communities and youth.
• Knowledge of Social Norms, GESI, GBV, Safeguarding and PSEAH.
• Solid facilitation, communication and report writing skills.
• Proficiency in Bangla and English communication
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project locations and work during emergency or disaster response situations, as required by the organization.

The selected candidate will receive an initial one-year contract for this position, with a high possibility of extension based on performance and availability of funds. Only Bangladeshi citizens are eligible to apply.

Salary Package for this role is BDT 65,071 monthly CTC, along with other benefits, i.e., hospitalization benefit for spouse and children, contributory provident fund, gratuity, festival bonus (2), leave, group insurance, yearly medical check-up for the employee, and day care facilities.
