The Role:

 

Communications Officer - Web and Digital Channels will be responsible to produce, manage and deliver resources and content for all communications and digital channels and manage the platforms with all updated components according to Plan International Branding. This position holder will manage the web media and carry out daily communications activities to achieve impact and improvement in line with Plan International Bangladesh’s core values. The Officer will maintain the tone of the web and digital channels well aligned with the organizations country strategy, values, priorities and influencing approach.

The post holder will manage, package and deliver digital content and strategic initiatives for website and digital channels. The post holder is required to be a strong team player and contribute to the diverse work of the communications team. The role requires the capacity to assist in developing awareness, advocacy, visibility and media and digital campaign plans, contents, strategies and tactics. It demands creativity and proficiency in analysing and synthesizing information to understand issues, identify options and support the team in sound decision-making.

Moreover, the post holder is required to assist the team in training and capacity building on updated branding guidelines, photography, videography etc, as per need, especially on media (new and traditional) and communications aspects.

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • Bachelor and/or Masters in Mass Communication/Journalism/ International Relations/Social sciences/ Digital production or any other relevant discipline from a recognized university
  • At least 2- 3 years’ experience in digital and social media content production and channel management
  • Experience in producing web and digital channel contents using different tools- Adobe photoshop, illustrator, indesign, premire pro, and wordpress.
  • Significant experience in designing and delivering content, communication materials, and campaign content both in the country and international context
  • Very strong English and Bangla language communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Understanding of techniques, strategies and channels to advance social justice campaigns targeting a range of key audiences
  • Strong knowledge and interest in social media marketing, research, analytics, media literacy and media advocacy
  • Sound knowledge of constantly shifting cultural, socio-economic, tech and media trends and dynamics of relevance to effective campaigning
  • Experience in community organising, and media mobilisation especially engaging young people and/ or working with social movements for change
  • Strategic thinking and trend analysis - able to derive insights from qualitative and quantitative data for media purpose
  • Ability to deliver creative, innovative work, involving cross-team collaboration, within a tight deadline
  • Strong knowledge of human rights and gender justice
  • Extensive Knowledge of web design and content editing systems
  • Budgeting skills to assist in administrative work.
