Plan International started working in Egypt in 1981 and has a presence in ten of the 27 governorates in which the country including Greater Cairo, Alexandria, Giza, Beheira, Kalyoubia, Damietta, Qena, Assuit and Sohag. Plan international Egypt implements programmes designed to enable communities to improve the lives of the most marginalised children and their families. Plan Egypt’s Country Strategy focuses on five strategic objectives.

Through a five-interconnected, gender transformative and context-fit country objectives, PIE intends along with the various stakeholders at all levels to continue delivering positive and transformative changes so that “Children, especially girls, and young people grow up in an enabling environment, realizing their rights and contributing in both development and humanitarian settings as active agents of change”.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

You will play a key role in strengthening the effectiveness, quality, and impact of sponsorship-related programming and partner engagement across Sponsorship implementation areas. You will be  responsible for overseeing the coordination and implementation of national-level sponsorship activities with local partners, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, sponsorship standards, and program objectives.  You will serve as a central coordination point between partners, facilitating collaboration, communication, and joint planning for country-wide initiatives and engagements.

 

Working closely with internal teams and partner organizations, you will oversee the implementation of Country Office-led initiatives with local partners, supports the design and coordination of tailored capacity-strengthening interventions, and promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the partnership network. Further, you will ensure effective partner engagement throughout the sponsorship cycle, maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, support the delivery of partner learning and development activities, and contribute to the successful achievement of sponsorship objectives through effective coordination, monitoring, documentation, and operational support.

 

In addition, you will support the documentation, learning, and visibility of sponsorship interventions by coordinating the collection and development of success stories, Most Significant Change stories, lessons learned, case studies, and other evidence of program results.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and oversee national sponsorship initiatives with partners, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, quality standards, and consistent implementation. Serve as the primary liaison between partners and the Country Office, support partner participation in sponsorship activities and events, develop engagement plans, and facilitate coordination meetings to monitor progress, address challenges, and strengthen collaboration.  
  • Oversee the implementation of Country Office-led sponsorship initiatives through partners, ensuring effective coordination with internal teams and Sponsorship Field Coordinators. Monitor partner-led activities, provide technical support, promote compliance with sponsorship standards and safeguarding requirements, and address implementation challenges through timely stakeholder engagement.  
  • Assess and strengthen partner capacity by identifying development needs, implementing tailored capacity-building plans, coordinating training and knowledge-sharing initiatives, promoting best practice exchange, monitoring progress, and utilizing partner feedback to enhance program quality, sustainability, and organizational performance.
  • Support the documentation and communication of sponsorship program achievements, impact, and learning by developing high-quality stories, case studies, and evidence products. Coordinate with partners and internal teams to capture good practices and lessons learned, maintain organized knowledge repositories, and contribute qualitative content for reports, presentations, and visibility materials.  
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration and partner engagement to ensure effective sponsorship program implementation, alignment with organizational priorities, and timely resolution of operational challenges. Support planning processes, strengthen partner performance, and promote organizational learning, accountability, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing among partners and internal teams.  
  • Serve as the primary liaison for partner communications, providing guidance on policies and procedures, coordinating partner meetings and joint planning sessions, fostering strong and equitable partnerships, and gathering partner feedback to enhance collaboration, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Plan International’s Child Protection and Gender Equality policies, including staff awareness and reporting procedures. 
  • You will be trusted to take on additional assignments within the scope of work as assigned by your supervisor on need basis.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Someone with bachelor's degree in International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Should have 3-4 years of experience in programme implementation, partnerships, community engagement, or related fields.
  • Should have a strong understanding of the cultural, social, and economic landscape in Egypt.
  • Someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Someone with proven track record of successfully adapting global strategies to meet local needs and achieve program objectives

 

Technical Competencies

Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of development and humanitarian principles, frameworks, and best practices
  • Profound knowledge of Egyptian culture, societal norms, history, and local contexts
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and policies governing development work in Egypt
  • Understanding of global trends and challenges in development and humanitarian sectors
  • Awareness of key stakeholders and partners in Egypt involved in development and humanitarian efforts
  • Familiarity with project management principles and tools for effective program implementation

 

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to adapt global strategies to local contexts while maintaining alignment with organizational objectives
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English languages for effective communication and documentation
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, NGOs, and donors
  • Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills for navigating complex social and political landscapes
  • Competence in facilitating participatory decision-making processes and community consultations
  • Skill in capacity building and training to empower local partners and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to inform evidence-based decision-making and learning
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively
