Finance and Accounting Officer

 

Resilient BARMM Project

🌱 About the Project: Resilient BARMM

 

Plan International Pilipinas, with support from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and Plan International Spain, is launching Resilient BARMM, a climate resilience project in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

 

The project aims to strengthen gender-sensitive and youth-led climate resilience in the municipalities of Mamasapano, Upi, and Marantao by:

  • Building local capacity
  • Supporting sustainable and green livelihoods
  • Promoting inclusive and participatory climate governance

 

By empowering women, young people, and communities, the project contributes to climate‑smart and inclusive development aligned with BARMM’s priorities.


👤 About the Role

 

The Finance and Accounting Officer will provide essential financial and operational support to ensure smooth and compliant project implementation. You will help manage budgets, review payments, monitor spending, and prepare financial reports.

 

You will also ensure that all project financial transactions follow donor regulations and Plan International’s accounting procedures.


🛠 Key Responsibilities

  • Review the project’s work and financial plans and support budget phasing
  • Help the Project Manager monitor budget use and flag any financial issues
  • Review PRs, APRs, payment requests, cash advances, liquidations, reimbursements, and petty cash replenishments
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly financial reports, including cross‑charge reconciliation
  • Scan and upload required financial documents to SharePoint every month
  • Provide required financial documents during audits or as needed

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or a related field

Technical Knowledge:

  • Computer literacy
  • Solid understanding of financial management

Experience & Competencies:

  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and transparency
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work well in a team
  • Gender-sensitive and committed to child and human rights principles
