The Opportunity

At Plan International, we work to advance children’s rights and equality for girls. We are currently seeking an Operations Assistant, UNHCR to support the effective delivery of operational, procurement, logistics, and administrative services across Programme Areas, ensuring smooth and compliant implementation of Plan International Egypt’s activities.

In this role, you will provide critical operational support to Programme Area teams, ensuring that procurement, logistics, fleet, administration, and security processes are delivered efficiently and in line with organizational policies and donor requirements. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain high standards of service delivery, accountability, and compliance.

You will also play a key role in supporting SAP processes, supplier management, office administration, and coordination of travel, meetings, and logistics—contributing to an enabling environment that allows programme teams to deliver impact for children and communities.

The Role

As Operations Assistant, UNHCR, you will:

• Provide procurement, logistics, and administrative support in line with Plan International policies and procedures
• Support SAP/YODA processes, including procurement transactions, supplier registration, and reporting
• Coordinate procurement planning and ensure purchase requests align with approved plans
• Manage office administration, including premises maintenance and service provision
• Support organization of meetings, workshops, and official visits
• Coordinate travel arrangements, including international travel and logistics
• Oversee fleet management, including vehicle maintenance, fuel tracking, and reporting through TrackPoint
• Support asset management processes, including asset registration, tagging, tracking, and reporting
• Prepare regular logistics, procurement, travel, and asset reports
• Supervise drivers, janitors, and outsourced staff to ensure effective service delivery
• Support security management processes, including safety procedures, incident reporting, and compliance with SOPs
• Ensure implementation of Plan’s supply chain, security, safeguarding, and administrative policies
• Support partner due diligence and capacity building on operational policies
• Assist in budget monitoring and ensure cost-efficient logistics and administrative services

About You

We are looking for a service-oriented and detail-focused professional with strong operational and coordination skills, and a commitment to efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.

You will ideally have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or operations within an NGO or similar environment
• Experience working with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
• Strong knowledge of procurement and logistics processes and policies
• Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
• Experience in fleet, asset, and supplier management
• Good command of Arabic and English
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities

Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
  • Ensures that Humanitarian Program staff are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in project design, during implementation and as principles applied in day-to-day work of Programme team;
  • Ensures that Plan Egypt contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.

 

Location: Greater Cairo Office in Maadi
