MEAL Coordinator

Date: 6 Jan 2026

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Company: Plan International

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.

We won’t stop until we are all equal.

The Opportunity

The MEAL Coordinator will ensure the quality and timely implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) framework for the Countering Harmful Practices F4B Project (2026–2030), funded by the Dutch Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA). This project aims to strengthen local civil society organizations to prevent and respond to harmful practices including Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM), Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C), teenage pregnancy, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) across Ethiopia’s Amhara, Oromia, Somali, and Afar regions.

Working closely with the Project Manager, SRH & GBV Specialist, regional coordinators, and other staff, the MEAL Coordinator will ensure that all MEAL activities align with the project’s framework, Plan International Ethiopia’s Country Strategy (2025–2029), and the broader MFA multi-country strategy implemented in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia.

The role involves leading data planning, collection, analysis, reporting, and utilization while ensuring gender-transformative, inclusive, and participatory approaches. He/she will support the implementation of Community Feedback and Response Mechanisms, build MEAL technical capacity among staff and partners with a focus on Results-Based Monitoring (RBM), and promote evidence-based decision-making and organizational learning by identifying lessons learned and good practices throughout the project lifecycle.
