Grants Finance Remediation Manager

Date: 19-Jan-2019

Location: Woking, UKM, GB

Company: Plan International

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Opportunity

The grants finance team maintains the global grants system, delivers monthly, quarterly and year end grants reports and provides advice to all parts of Plan International regarding financial grants management through the financial systems.  This enables effective financial management of Plan International’s global grant portfolio.

The role is required temporarily to lead the Grants Finance Remediation phase 3 until end of June 2019. The focus is to provide ‘clean’ financial grant data for year end and data migration to a new ERP.

The Individual

Qualified accountant or part qualified accountant with project management experience. As well as a demonstrated experience of the financial aspects of grant management from institutional donors in an INGO.

Expert command of Excel and multi-currency accounting packages, as well as demonstrable knowledge of how financial accounting and grant accounting interact.

Strong written and spoken English (French or Spanish is an added advantage)
