IT Business Analyst

Date: 17-Jan-2019

Location: Woking, UKM, GB

Company: Plan International

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.

The Opportunity

ERP based systems are core in Plan International for managing all our finances, grants, programmes and procurement activities. We are embarking on an ambitious 2 year plan to upgrade and replace our existing solution to a cloud based SAAS model. A new project team is being formed with the project due to start in January 2019.

For us to achieve the forecast benefits of the new solutions, system adoption in all our offices is vital; this can only be achieved if the business processes support all users. You will work alongside both the Technical and Business Process Leads to ensure the new solutions and business processes are fully aligned.

As the IT Business Analyst you will:

  • Ensure business processes support the successful delivery of the new ERP solution that aligns with business requirements and is delivered fit for purpose, on time and to agreed budget.
  • Lead, discuss and agree end to end to business processes across all business areas that will use the ERP solutions.
  • Document an overall process taxonomy and then support the Business Process Lead with the development and execution of plans to map and improve key processes in scope.
  • Work with key business owners to review changes needed to processes during the project lifecycle.
  • Be involved in ERP system design, testing and business change activities.
  • Reviewing the processes needed to support such integration within the company.

The Person

Ideally, we would like you to have:

  • Relevant, demonstrable experience of business analysis within an ERP solution and associated business process environment; ideally gained from contributing to a global ERP project from initiation through to successful delivery. This will include managing complex, multi-stakeholder processes and relationships in a global, multi-cultural environment.
  • Knowledge of business functions and processes and the ability to engage with stakeholders such as HR, Finance and Supply Chain, as well as a good knowledge of universally used IT systems (such as ERP, BPM and CRM). Exposure to SAAS cloud based solutions would be useful.
  • A recognized qualification or accreditation (e.g. Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent).
  • Excellent facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills. Able to lead and influence stakeholders in a variety of departments and at all levels.
  • Superior analytical and problem solving expertise; able to assess complex and ambiguous problems effectively and assimilate multiple data points, both quantitative and qualitative, in a changing environment.
  • Able to deliver insightful, engaging and compelling presentations that appeal to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A good level of self-awareness to enable you to understand, build relationships and engage tactfully across cultures.
