The Project:

Plan International Bangladesh has launched a six-month project titled SCORE (Strengthening COVID-19 Response) that provides timely, relevant support to national and local priority COVID-19 response activities, with a particular focus on addressing the vulnerabilities faced by marginalized groups, especially women and girls, in selected district of Bangladesh. As the third wave of COVID-19 is expecting, the SCORE project adopts two inter-related strategies to achieve the ultimate outcome to reduce COVID-19 related mortality and morbidity of target populations, especially for those experiencing marginalization and/or vulnerability. The strategies are: 1) to support local level community response prevention and treatment activities, which build off existing community structures already supporting health and gender equality outcomes with a focus on those most vulnerable and hard-to-reach for COVID-19 prevention and; 2) to strengthen the capacity of both facility-based and community-based health services to prepare for, and respond to, COVID-19 and its related impacts. SCORE will be implemented in all 6 upazilas (Domar, Dimla, Jaldhaka, Kishoreganj, Saidpur and Sadar) under Nilphamari district in Rangpur Division of Bangladesh.

 

The Role:

The Capacity Building Specialist under the SCORE project will be responsible for designing and conducting the different capacity development activities for children, young people, women, and partner staff. Being a member of the SCORE project team, the Capacity Building Specialist will be operating in close collaboration with other members of the project. The Capacity Building Specialist will be responsible for developing different training manuals for SCORE Project which includes adaptation of Father’s Club Manual for male engagement training, development of COVID-19 manual, Peer Education manual, Service providers’ manual on GE and SRHR. Material development include SBCC tools, Peer Educator Pac, COVID-19 kit, CMG including FWC MC materials, SBCC Material for male & female CHW and CSBAs, DIP and FD-7. Conduction of ToT and cascading training for different category field level staff. Act as focal point for training under SCORE project. Maintaining training records (assessment report, training report) for future references.

 

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual with a Master’s Degree preferably in Public Health or any other relevant subject from a reputed University. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of relevant working experience in development organisation. Excellent facilitation skills together with highly developed interpersonal communication and negotiation skills is a must. Knowledge of different development initiatives i.e. gender equity, child rights, child protection, COVID-19, SRHR, 8th Five Year Plan, Govt. Health & FP system, SDG etc. will be an added advantage for this position. The incumbent needs to have the basic capable to adopt appropriate tools & methodologies to facilitate disadvantaged children, young people, families and communities.
