Plan International invites highly competent, experienced and committed professionals to fill the following position:




The Security Officer ensures that the standard security requirements of Plan International Philippines are implemented and enforced. He/She will coordinate with relevant partners for effective security processes and procedures that aim to further improve Plan’s overall security management in Mindanao. He/She will strengthen the security management structure of Plan in Mindanao and improve the overall preventive security management. He/she will also provide timely support to the Program Unit Manager regarding all security-related issues. This role will be based in Cotabato City, Maguindanao, Philippines.


Some of the other key responsibilities are: 1.) Undertakes security assessment activities as needed and as directed by the Program Unit Manager to ensure compliance with the standard security requirements; 2.) Monitor and analyze the security situation in areas where Plan operates in Mindanao and identify security-related trends and issues that affect Plan's operations and programs; 3.) Establish and maintain internal and external security-related contacts and participate in security meetings both internally and externally with other relevant organizations, and 4.) Provide program area specific security briefings and debriefings to staff and visitors entering or exiting Plan’s operations and others as required.




  • University graduate related to the role. Certified in basic life support, preferably on paramedic level.
  • Has relevant training on security management.
  • Has a minimum of two years' work experience in a similar role, preferably with an I/NGO.
  • Has experience in conducting security and safety analysis.
  • Experience in working with child-focused and/or humanitarian development organizations is an advantage.
  • Experience in emergency response and relief operations is an advantage.
  • Must have a good understanding of the security issues and working culture in the Mindanao context.
  • Applicants must have a right to work in the Philippines. Local applicants are preferred.
