THE OPPORTUNITY

We're launching an 18-month initiative across four municipalities in Samar. Our focus: enhancing local government capabilities and raising disaster risk reduction awareness. With your help, we aim to bolster the resilience of over 7,680 individuals, preparing them to face and mitigate the challenges posed by nature's unpredictability. Be part of a transformative project that empowers and protects vulnerable populations.

In line with this project, Plan International Pilipinas seeks four dynamic Project Officers to join our team on a transformative journey. You'll be the frontline support, leading community engagement and activities at the grassroots level. Collaborate with specialists to deliver high-quality, technically sound initiatives that foster project ownership among stakeholders.

Your role involves:

• Conducting participatory situational analysis and consultations.
• Designing and facilitating capacity-building activities for children, families, and local government personnel.
• Implementing inclusive and gender-transformative approaches in planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Providing regular project updates and ensuring alignment with our vision.

Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities covered by Plan International.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful in the role you will need among other things:

• University graduate in Social Work, Social Science, Community Development, or any DRR-related discipline.
• Minimum of three years experience in community program implementation or two years of implementing DRR projects.
• Knowledgeable in DRR, Climate Change Adaptation, management, children’s rights, gender equality and inclusion.
• Has relevant skills in community organizing, participatory appraisal, and DRR systems.
• Ability to prioritize and manage a complex and varied workload.
• Good command of verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds.
• Applicants must be based in the Philippines and Filipino nationals.
